The Shocking Truth – Nuclear War With Iran The Talk in Cathedral Square, Christchurch
...People with impeccable credentials have written that the so-called terrorist attack on New York and the Pentagon on Sept 9, 2001 was an inside job. Also, that the so-called al-Qaeda terrorists were really pawns in a much bigger conspiracy, organised by the Bush Administration to create a new enemy and justify their global crusade and wars against terrorism.

Another Astute US Author Predicts US War On Iran
Comment by Larry Ross
December 28, 2006

While brilliant and very worthwhile, Marjorie Cohn also neglects to mention the techniques and circumstances the Bush regime may use to start a war with Iran with US public support.
The result of this kind of failure by many US journalists is a people that will be fooled by a US 'False Flag' against Iran. They will then support a war on Iran because of what they have been fooled into thinking that Iran has done. It is a story of how rational intelligent thinking people can discount and/or dismiss the idea of official chicanery, even though various US Governments and their agencies have a long history of committing various nefarious schemes against other countries and governments.

"What's Going On?" A Vietnam-Era Song Rings True Today
by Marjorie Cohn, AlterNet
December 28, 2006

In 1971, singer Marvin Gaye raised hackles when he tried to make sense of the madness of the Vietnam War by asking, "What's Going On?" ....
The song, told from the perspective of a returning Vietnam veteran, was inspired by Gaye's brother who had recently returned from that disastrous war.

...."The deaths of American soldiers now verges on the criminal."

Bush's New Lies
Comment by Larry Ross
December 27, 2006

Here are a few of Bush's new lies in Newsweek, a mainstream US weekly.
However the real continuing lies were not mentioned. Is this because Newsweek likes to pretend these old lies don't count, because so many people still believe them? Or are they too big and sensitive to mention..

Lies and Obfuscations
by Eleanor Clift
December 26, 2006

In the spirit of holding our political leaders accountable, this year-end review will tabulate the worst lies told by Bush and company, along with several stories that were underreported in the media. Much of what was generated got lost in the fog of war, but the long arm of history will retrieve these moments. As the president said in his news conference this week, if they're still writing about No. 1 - George Washington - there's plenty of time before the historians can properly evaluate No. 43. Judging by the mess in Iraq, it could be 200 or 300 years - if ever - before Bush is vindicated.

Salvador Option Designed to Save US
Comment by Larry Ross
December 25, 2006

There was no civil war in Iraq before.  But by using what is known as "The Salvador Option" (described below by James Brook) the US rapidly turned their illegal war on Iraq  into the civil war it is today.
The technique, used many times by the US before, particularly in South America , involves employing death squads to masquerade as the militia of the dominant faction, or as police under the direction of that faction, and murder assigned targets on the victim side.

Talking surge
by James Brooks
December 20, 2006

‘Everyone in town is talking “surge” now,’ a Pentagon adviser explained to NPR listeners the other day, and you could almost feel the country buckle up its mind for another bloody disaster ahead. One big “final” push to defeat the popular resistance of the Iraqi people. Just to see if we can do it, before we leave. It probably won’t work, but it’s worth a try.’

Brilliant Analysis of War Misses Key Factor
Comment by Larry Ross
December 23, 2006

David Corn's brilliant analysis of the Iraq war and Bush's reactions are scary as he says. Bush plans to sweep aside all expert advice and escalate the war with more troops (he invented a new term for escalating the war. He calls it a 'surge' tactic). He will also likely intensify US bombing of Iraq. However Corn does not mention that Bush may also use a ‘False Flag' attack on the US and blame Iran, then use that as his justification to both escalate the Iraq war, use nuclear weapons on Iran, and introduce fascist-type legislation in the US. This possibility has been mentioned extensively in other writings on this site.

Bush, Asleep In The Bunker
by David Corn
December 20, 2006

This is scary. The president of the United States of America has created a hellish disaster that has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians and thousands of American soldiers, and he's resting well. The vice president believes that the man responsible for three of the greatest military blunders in U.S. history (attacking Iraq without devising a strategy for securing the country after the invasion; dissolving the Iraqi army, creating armed and trained recruits for the incipient insurgency; and mounting an extensive de-Baathification campaign that destroyed the governing infrastructure of the nation) did his job well.

$2 Trillion War Robbery
Comment by Larry Ross
December 23, 2006

Considering the war is both preplanned and based on lies, it is a robbery on a gigantic scale. Will Bush and his collaborators get away with this $trillion gigantic fraud, and the totally unjustified mass killing of 655,000 Iraqi people and 3,000 unwitting US Servicemen who believe they are doing their duty?

The $2 Trillion Dollar War
by Charles M. Young
December 20, 2006

When America invaded Iraq in 2003, the Bush administration predicted that the war would turn a profit, paying for itself with increased oil revenues. So far, though, Congress has spent more than $350 billion on the conflict, including the $50 billion appropriated for 2007.

The Iraq Study Group Backs Increasing Genocide in Iraq
Comment by Larry Ross
December 23, 2006

The Iraq Study Group is obviously pandering to Bush fantasies, by refusing to recognise the US massacre of Iraqis as an illegal, totally unjustified invasion of a small country. Iraq had no WMD, no links to al-Qaeda or Bin Laden, and no links to the 9/11 attack, and no intentions of attacking neighbours or the USA or the UK ..."....in 45 minutes" as Tony Blair claimed. This would have to be one of the largest deceptions for warmaking in history.
The ISG is parroting all the lies and false assumptions used to justify this illegal war - and claims "US troops will be there " for a long, long time." This genuflecting to Bush, the neocons, the media, and their war mania, is in defiance of 7 out of 10 Americans who want an end to the war and for US troops to be withdrawn.

Powell, Baker, Hamilton ... Thanks for Nothing!
by Norman Solomon
December 20, 2006

Washington Refuses to End the War When Colin Powell endorsed the Iraq Study Group report during his Dec. 17 appearance on "Face the Nation," it was another curtain call for a tragic farce.
Four years ago, "moderates" like Powell were making the invasion of Iraq possible. Now, in the guise of speaking truth to power, Powell and ISG co-chairs James Baker and Lee Hamilton are refueling the U.S. war effort by depicting it as a problem of strategy and management.
But the U.S. war effort is a problem of lies and slaughter.

Disaster on a Grand Scale
Comment by Larry Ross
December 23, 2006

Tariq Ali's brilliant article below, deals with the present unfolding disaster. But not with what might soon follow.
A 'surge' of more US troops and increased US bombing of civilians will produce more desperate resistance and lead to more Iraqi and US casualties in Iraq. It is likely to be accompanied by more domestic US protest, and more US military testimony against the war, including more military resignations.

Damning Testimony of Cooked Intelligence
Comment by Larry Ross
December 23, 2006

This article by David Corn, editor of The Nation, reveals additional important testimony that Bush and Blair cooked and altered intelligence in order to justify an illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq - an independent, sovereign state. Whereas they made much of the fact that Sad Hussein was a murdering despot and needed to be deposed so that they could introduce 'freedom and democracy' in Iraq, this was just a joke.
They do not admit and US mass media did not report, that the US made and supported Sadam's dictatorship from its very beginning. They armed him, encouraged his war with Iran and his crimes against his own people.

More Evidence of a Cooked-Up Case for War
by David Corn
December 15, 2006

For some journalists, it's not old news that the United States and England cooked the case for war in Iraq . The Independent of England has an important story out on this front. Here's the lead: The Government's case for going to war in Iraq has been torn apart by the publication of previously suppressed evidence that Tony Blair lied over Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction.

Americans Conditioned For War
Comment by Larry Ross
December 22, 2006

Americans have had four years of unjustified, illegal war for no legitimate reason or excuse. Constantly they have been bombarded by a litany of lies, war propaganda, and pro-war commentators, and democratic politicians repeating these lies.
War is the new neocon -generated reality for many Americans.

Military Escalation: Bush Can't Kick the Habit
by Robert Scheer
December 21, 2006

The Bush Administration is hooked on the drug of military might, with Gates calling for sending more troops to a war we can't win. Here we go again: A new secretary of defense and yet another call for ending the war in Iraq by escalating it. What are they smoking in the Bush White House?

Democrats Approve More Troops
Comment by Larry Ross
December 21, 2006

... If the Democrats were against this war, they would help expose the lies upon which it is based, and call for immediate withdrawal from this unjustified and illegal war. However throughout the war they have covered up and repeated Bush's lies and made themselves an integral part of this deception.
The Democrats also have the power to cut off and refuse funding for this war. But they could never be so bold as to actually act for the people of the United States and develop policies based on truth and reality - rather than the grandiose fantasies of Bush and his neocons.
Democratic control of Congress was a forlorn last hope. It's very sad to see that hope die so soon. ...

Sell-Out Democrats Have Walked into a Bush Trap on Iraq
by Dave Lindorff
December 20, 2006

The Democratic Party and its feckless leaders in Congress are about to fall into a trap. The trap is being sprung by President Bush and his too clever brain trust, but the sad fact is that it was actually laid by the Democrats themselves.
Taking over the Congress on a wave of popular revulsion at the twin catastrophes in Iraq and Afghanistan, Democrats could have issued immediate calls for an end to those wars, a return of the troops, and investigations into the criminal causes of those costly fiascos. They could have initiated efforts to halt funding for further war and foreign occupation.

Iraq Massacre Based On Lies
Comment by Larry Ross
December 20, 2006

The following article shows a few of the lies upon which the Iraq war is based. Amazingly, some people still believe these lies even though they have been exposed as concocted to justify the war. Even more amazing is that this US-created massacre not only continues, but gets worse in spite of the known lies. The mass media have embraced the lies as their own. To my knowledge, they have never admitted they acted for the Bush Administration in relaying these lies to their readers.

Options After the Deconstruction of Iraq

by: Dr. Rodrigue Tremblay
December 12, 2006

Wars of aggression are the most barbarous of all human endeavors.
[1] They are, more often than not, the instruments of insane tyrants who hear voices. Wars are also waged by warlike gambling leaders who bet their citizens' lives, houses and treasure to fulfill their own megalomaniac dreams of grandeur.

Scholars For 9/11 Truth
Comment by Larry Ross
December 16, 2006

This is one of the best sites for the scientific investigation of the 9/11 attacks on World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. It separates truth from fiction and documents what is probably the largest conspiracy in human history, and one which has the most serious consequences for humanity.
Because it is so horrific and from many perspectives seems improbable, impossible and even ridiculous, people tend to dismiss 9/11 alternative explanations without serious consideration of any of the evidence or questions raised. See also: 9/11 U.S. Attack Evidence

Hitler's Lesson Ignored Again?
Comment by Larry Ross
December 14, 2006

I repeat this quote from Adolph Hitler because it seems so relevant to the tactics today of the Bush Administration. The reactions of people are much the same. It's as if nothing was learned since the Hitlerian techniques were successfully used on the German people. Why?  They may be fooled again, particularly if Bush and co unleash a 'False Flag' op, followed up with a well-planned campaign of lies, blame, pro-war propaganda and war on the accused, for the phoney alleged "False Flag" errorist attack on the US.

John Pilger's 2003 Predictions Come True
Comment by Larry Ross
December 13, 2006

It's almost 4 years since John Pilger wrote this article, yet all his predictions and observations have come true. ...  Pilger's observation that the Bush regime is the "Third Reich of our times' is so very apt today.

PILGER: BLAIR IS A COWARD
by John Pilger
January 29, 2003

William Russell, the great correspondent who reported the carnage of imperial wars, may have first used the expression "blood on his hands" to describe impeccable politicians who, at a safe distance, order the mass killing of ordinary people.
In my experience "on his hands" applies especially to those modern political leaders who have had no personal experience of war, like George W Bush, who managed not to serve in Vietnam, and the effete Tony Blair.

Criteria For Bush Insanity
Comment by Larry Ross
December 4, 2006

Paul Craig Roberts presents some of the reasons why Bush should be judged insane. He makes a convincing case.
But there are other reasons as described under Psychopathology of Bushism on this site.
(1) Religious delusions, (2) Drunk with power and Hubris, (3) Grandiose notions of his own infallibility, (4) A belief in his God-given right to govern and to decide the fate of the rest of the world, (5) Like the Pope, Bush believes he is now infallible.

Is President Bush Sane?
December 2, 2006

Tens of millions of Americans want President George W. Bush to be impeached for the lies and deceit he used to launch an illegal war and for violating his oath of office to uphold the US Constitution. Millions of other Americans want Bush turned over to the war crimes tribunal at the Hague . The true fate that awaits Bush is psychiatric incarceration.

There is no solution. Writer Nir Rosen on Iraq's Descent Into Chaos
November 27, 2006

In his latest article, "Anatomy of a Civil War: Iraq's descent into chaos" , Rosen writes, "Shia religious parties such as the Iran-supported Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (its name a sufficient statement of its intentions), or SCIRI, controlled the country, and Shia militias had become the Iraqi police and the Iraqi army, running their own secret prisons, arresting, torturing, and executing Sunnis in what was clearly a civil war. And the Americans were merely one more militia among the many, watching, occasionally intervening, and in the end only making things worse. Iraqis' hopes for a better future after Saddam had been betrayed."

Permanent U.S. Bases Mean Permanent Occupation
Comment by Larry Ross
November 23, 2006

This article is particularly good because of its analysis of the Washington establishment, the probable result of the Iraq Study Group, and comments about permanent U.S. bases in Iraq, and the amazing abdication of responsibility by the Mass Media of honest coverage of the war.
On the other hand the predictions could be wrong if the Bush Administration implements its plan to make war on Iran, and escalates that into a nuclear war on Iran, leading to a general war on Islamic countries.
The possible use of a 'False Flag' operation by the Bush Administration, to incriminate Iran and justify using nuclear weapons, must also be considered.

Will Papa Bush's Old Pals Prolong the Iraq Occupation?

November 22, 2006

While everyone in Washington is treating Bush Senior's ally Robert Gates' Pentagon arrival and James Baker's Iraq Study Group report as godsends that will end the war in Iraq, it's quite likely that they will deploy more troops and stay there indefinitely.

Assassination or Suicide?
Comment by Larry Ross
November 15, 2006

There is much data on Kelly's death that suggests  he died due to foul play, rather than suicide. As the BBC repeats government lies about Iraq, and reflects it's false assumptions and views, I hope their investigative programme is not a whitewash.

Preparations For War On Iran
Comment by Larry Ross
November 12, 2006

....The U.S. Democrats who have just won in Congress and the Senate are unlikely to stop this war as they are deeply involved in approving the Iraq war, and either repeating or not questioning Bush lies to justify it. They are doing the same thing about the new U.S. enemy - Iran . They have also approved Bush's new nuclear doctrines, his patriot laws, his preparations for the Iran war and given him virtually unlimited power. The Democrats have proved themselves to be a weak, lily-livered and wishy-washy opposition party unwilling and unable to speak the truth about the Bush Administration and the illegal wars. There are a few exceptional and honest Democratic politicians who oppose U.S. war policies, but not enough to make much difference.

Unleashing Armageddon in the Middle East
by Dr. Elias Akleh
November 11, 2006

In mid 1970s the American Power Elite drew a “Grand Plan” to control and to monopolize global oil and nuclear energy resources, for he who controls energy resources determines the fate of nations. The base of this “Grand Plan” is the invasion of energy rich countries to directly control their resources, and to create subservient governments that would exploit their own people as cheap labor to harvest energy for the United States.
The collapse of the Soviet Union had created a window of opportunity for the United States to ensure and to affirm its global superiority through expansion and controlling energy resources without any real opposition. The attacks of 911 were necessary requirements for the Bush administration to wage a “global war against terror” that would serve as a cover up for American hegemony. President Bush borrowed Mussolini's fascist motto of “If you are not with me, you are against me” and turned it into “You are either with us or with the terrorist” to terrorize weaker nations into accepting American expansions.

Haditha - A Symbol of Genocide
Comment by Larry Ross
November 7, 2006

The American people have been deceived and shanghaied into becoming tools of a criminal conspiracy...
What has happened to our U.S.A. that was a beacon of hope to the world's impoverished, oppressed masses? It could have led in solving the world's real problems and led humanity toward a secure, prosperous, and just world.
Instead it took another road - the road of evil and the blackest fascism and mass murder. The conspiracy has even increased its genocidal preparations with new nuclear doctrines that 'legally' allow it to wage pre-emptive nuclear slaughter of people, not by the thousand as in Iraq , but now by the million in Iran and elsewhere. The compliant mass propaganda media made sure this information, its implications, and criticism of it, was not given to the people.

Say No to U.S. War Crimes!
November 7, 2006

My Lai , Vietnam , 1968. Haditha , Iraq , 2005. Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush hate it when anyone mentions these two events — these two war crimes — in the same breath. All the more reason to examine them closely, to see that they have the same basis that they spell out the same lesson.

False Flag Covert Operations
From Wikipedia
Posted October 21, 2006

False flag operations are covert operations conducted by governments, corporations, or other organizations, which are designed to appear as if they are being carried out by other entities. The name is derived from the military concept of flying false colors ; that is, flying the flag of a country other than one's own.

The Day After Pat's Birthday: A Plea To Speak Up For Democracy

by Kevin Tillman
October 19, 2006

It will be Pat's birthday on November 6, and the mid-term elections are one day later. That gets me thinking about a conversation I had with Pat before we joined the military. He spoke about the risks that come with signing the pap ers. How once we were committed, we would be at the mercy of the American leadership and the American people. How we could be thrown in a direction not of our volition. How fighting as a soldier would leave us without a voice … until we get out. Much has happened since we handed over our voice:

Is War with Iran the October Surprise?

by Captain Eric H. May
October 17, 2006

Polls as Prologue
According to current polls, if the mid-term elections were held today, President George W. Bush and his Republican Party would lose badly . He would then face an opposition Congress in 2007, one bound and determined to reassert its oversight duties. Investigations, an inevitability, could easily lead to his impeachment , and in that event the two-thirds of the United States who don't trust him could ask troubling questions about his presidency, all the way back to the still-murky events of 9/11.

Creeping Fascism
Comment by Larry Ross
October 19, 2006

James Bovard's article shows how Bush is emerging as America's dictator and how media helps this process by portraying it as perfectly normal. Congress and the Senate are allowing Bush to get away with installing a law that allows him to torture suspects. Also, laws to allow the courts to accept testimony obtained under torture, which is generally considered faulty. Most people will say anything just to stop the torture. The  Bush Administration will get the confessions it wants, to justify the sentence it wants to give it's prisoners. Bush can also declare anyone in the world a suspect and does not have to produce evidence to support that charge. It looks like the apathetic American public will accept this, mainly because the media do not make them aware.
If Bush stages a "False Flag" operation to incriminate Iran and then declares war on Iran, the process will be stepped up as well as the popularity of Bush and the Republicans. Few people are aware or care about this frightening loss as their democracy is legislated out of existence.

How to Make a Power Grab 'Mundane'

by James Bovard
October 18, 2006

The Washington Post's story today -- "Bush Signs Terrorism Measure" -- looks like just another routine report on the approval of a piece of legislation, accompanied by the usual "he said/ she said" quotes. A typical reader might shrug at this point and shift to the sports section to read the latest autopsy on the Redskins.
How will we know when a dictatorship has arrived? Not from reading the Washington Post. The Post's story today -- “Bush Signs Terrorism Measure” -- looks like just another routine report on the approval of a piece of legislation, accompanied by the usual “he said/ she said” balancing quotes.

Don't Let Them Manufacture Another War
October 18, 2006

Representative Dennis Kucinich knows the neocon playbook used to lead our nation into war. That's why the courageous Congressman is doing everything he possibly can to ensure that the Bush administration fails in its effort to pull the same old tricks in manufacturing a war with Iran. . . .
1) Iran is at least 5 years – but more likely 10 or more years – away from producing weapons-grade nuclear materials
2) Iran poses no imminent threat to the US, Israel, or its neighbors
3) The Bush administration has already selected the military option and is moving to make it operational
4) The consequences of a military confrontation with Iran are global and nightmarish
5) We should be pursuing multilateral negotiations and have missed key opportunities to do so – including not even responding to an Iranian offer to put     recognition of Israel and suspension of its nuclear program on the table.
Perhaps more than anything else, our refusal to engage Iran frustrates this panel.

Ideology of Genocide
Comment by Larry Ross
October 14, 2006

The planned mass killing of Iraqis by the Bush regime will probably get much worse and spread much further than Iraq's 650,000 victims, currently calculated by the John Hopkins survey. To facilitate and legalize the coming genocides, the Bush regime created new nuclear doctrines allowing the President to wage pre-emptive nuclear war and introduce nuclear weapons use into conventional conflicts. These were made law by the U.S. Senate. To gain public acceptance they were treated as an unimportant, normal development by the mass media in the U.S. and in other countries, such as New Zealand.

These ships will be in place to strike Iran by the end of the month. It may be a bluff. It may be a feint. It may be a simple show of American power. But I doubt it.

Indictment of "Stay the Course Strategy In Iraq"
Comment by Larry Ross
October 9, 2006

This is a very important factual paper that shreds Bush's "Stay the Course" argument for keeping his Iraq war going. Seeing as the war is a fraudulent construction by Bush neoconservatives in the first place, this paper only deals with the results of the fraud, and then produces arguments why this war should not be kept going. It's a very good argument for that alone.

The Insanity of 'Staying the Course' in Iraq

by Joshua Holland, AlterNet
October 9, 2006

At this point, the only people left who think that the U.S. must 'stay the course' in Iraq are Bush's neocons and al Qaeda.
As the bodies pile up in Iraq, new polls show that most Iraqis want us out of their country, and they want us out soon. At the same time, Al Jazeera acquired a letter believed to be from a high-ranking al Qaeda operative that shows that our worst enemies think a protracted occupation of Iraq is "the most important thing" for the future of their cause.
Yet the Bush administration and its mouthpieces insist that we must "stay the course" in Iraq -- either to bring stability to the war-torn country or out of some misguided belief that we can salvage America's dignity from an embarrassing Vietnam-style defeat.

Two Bombshell Books Aired on TVNZ's Close Up
October 4, 2006

American Politics - Bob Woodward
Two bombshell books just published in the US have questioned the Bush administration's credibility and threaten to rock next month's mid-term elections in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
The first is by Bob Woodward, the Washington Post journalist who broke the Watergate Scandal.
Called 'State of Denial' it comes to a damning conclusion: that President Bush has failed to tell the American people the truth over Iraq.
Woodward spent two years on the book and interviewed more than 200 people for it, including most of the top officials in the Bush administration.
On CNN'S Larry King programme Woodward revealed yesterday that secret reports directly contradict what Bush has been telling the American people and the world.

Susan Wood talks to Author Karen DeYoung

On Close Up
October 4, 2006

Washington Post  journalist Karen DeYoung's biography " Soldier: The Life of Colin Powell "  is out October 10 and in it DeYoung says former United States Secretary of State Colin Powell warned President Bush he was facing a difficult insurgency in Iraq in their final meeting in January last year.
DeYoung says Bush was dismissive and unconcerned about Powell's warnings, just as he had been much of Powell's advice for the previous four years.
Like Bob Woodward's book " State of Denial " DeYoung's biography is out just in time for the November 7 House of Representative elections. She talks to Susan Wood about why Colin Powell departed and discusses her book and Woodward's.

MUJCA News: BBC, WI, alternative media cover UW 9/11 lecture!

By Kevin Barrett
October 2, 2006

Mainstream media coverage of 9/11 truth events is rarely what it should be, as I have complained on more than one occasion (like here, here, and here). But I have to admit that the local media did a pretty good job covering the recent U.W.-Madison event “9/11: Folklore and Fact.” Once again, the  left-liberal-leaning Capital Times led the way with a balanced, accurate, elegantly-written article, while  the conservative Wisconsin State Journal and Badger Herald also produced good, balanced articles. Here they are, along with the text of my talk “A Folklorist Looks at 9/11” and the wonderful pieces from 911blogger and Gaelic Starover. The BBC documentary on “9/11 conspiracy theorists” is due for broadcast in January.

US Govt Caused 9/11 Attack Says Republican
Comment by Larry Ross
September 17, 2006

Neol Gibeson's paper is one of the strongest, best researched and most convincing papers I have read on the U.S. Government 9/11 conspiracy.
There is little doubt that the Bush neo-con regime and their many accomplices will fight hard and use all kinds of tricks and foul play to avoid being exposed and standing trial for their crimes.

9/11 SPECIAL PROSECUTOR NEEDED

September 17, 2006

We do not want to believe that our own federal government may have conspired and murdered other Americans to justify the Global War on Terror and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq . Such information destroys our concept of self and our worldview. However, the truth is the truth and it cannot be hidden any longer. Now, some CIA officers are buying legal insurance to cover the cost of their defense should they be indicted by a federal grand jury for their roles in 9/11. They are worried that the results of an internal CIA investigation into some CIA agents' roles in 9/11 may soon become public and the public outcry would immediately lead to their arrest for murder and conspiracy among other charges.

Why Are Americans Scared of Joining the Dots on the 9/11 Puzzle?
Comment by Larry Ross
September 8, 2006

This is a truly excellent paper by Craig Roberts, and he does conclude that the Official story about the cause of 9/11, is unbelievable. He is very convincing that the Bush Administration 9/11 story is totally unbelievable. Although it is painfully obvious that the Bush Administration must have been deeply involved in the 9/11 conspiracy and covering up the details of the crime as well as preventing a full and strictly independent investigation, Roberts and many other prestigious Americans seem very reluctant to say so.

Five Years After and We Still Don't Know

By Paul Craig Roberts
September 7, 2005

... The scientists, engineers, and professors who pose the tough questions about 9/11 are not people who spend their lives making sense of their experience by constructing conspiracy theories.  Scientists and scholars look to facts and evidence.  They are concerned with the paucity of evidence in behalf of the official explanation.  They stress that the official explanation is inconsistent with known laws of physics, and that the numerous security failures, when combined together, are a statistical improbability.

War IS Terrorism
Comment by Larry Ross
September 7, 2006

I saw films tonight about the U.S. bombardment, destruction and occupation of a small city in Iraq - Fallujah The suffering victims expressed themselves on film. Their homes had been bombed and shelled by the U.S. - the woman and children wounded and killed. The Americans blocked their exit roads from the city. It was Bush, Neo-conservative Terrorism on a grand scale. It wasn't so a much war, as an 'Only Made In America' slaughter house

War is not a solution for terrorism

By Howard Zinn
September 3, 2006

THERE IS SOMETHING important to be learned from the recent experience of the United States and Israel in the Middle East: that massive military attacks, inevitably indiscriminate, are not only morally reprehensible, but useless in achieving the stated aims of those who carry them out.
The United States, in three years of war, which began with shock-and-awe bombardment and goes on with day-to-day violence and chaos, has been an utter failure in its claimed objective of bringing democracy and stability to Iraq. The Israeli invasion and bombing of Lebanon has not brought security to Israel; indeed it has increased the number of its enemies, whether in Hezbollah or Hamas or among Arabs who belong to neither of those groups.

Another US Republican says 9/11 was a Hoax
Comment by Larry Ross
September 7, 2006

... If people wish to avoid the very, very disastrous consequences of this scenario, they will have to act now to get rid of the Bush neocon administration. It is unlikely they will be able to act, or be effective, after the Bush Administration begins these last extreme stages of it's plan.

GOP candidate says 9/11 attacks were a hoax

August 24, 2005

A Republican candidate for this area's congressional seat said Wednesday that the U.S. government was complicit in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
In an editorial board interview with The Telegraph on Wednesday, the candidate, Mary Maxwell, said the U.S. government had a role in killing nearly 3,000 people at the World Trade Center and Pentagon, so it could make Americans hate Arabs and allow the military to bomb Muslim nations such as Iraq.Maxwell, 59, seeks the 2nd District congressional seat. The Concord resident opposes the incumbent, Charles Bass of Peterborough, and Berlin Mayor Bob Danderson in the Republican primary Sept. 12.

"The Bigger the Lie, the More People Will Believe It" - Adolph Hitler
Comment by Larry Ross
September 6, 2006

Bush is not fighting a global war on terrorism in Iraq or anywhere else. There was no terrorism in Iraq until Bush provoked the resistance to invasion and American barbarism. He calls such resistance "terrorism" for his own political purposes. His wars and policies and statements make far more resistance to American aggression or "terrorism" as he likes to call it, than it defeats. His so-called "war on terrorism" in Iraq is not a war - particularly after he quickly defeated the puny forces of Saddam Hussein. It has always been an illegal invasion and massacre of civilians, based on many whopping big lies. His tactics don't kill terrorists, it makes them.

Bush's Terror Tales

September 1, 2006

There is something sad about a grown man playing children's make-believe war games in a tree-house in grandpa's back yard?which is how George W. Bush came across Thursday night in his  speech on the importance of winning the war in Iraq in the global battle against terrorism. Rarely does a leader of a great country like the United States malign history, his people's intelligence and the dignity of over a billion Muslims in one speech. But Bush did that Thursday night and will probably keep doing it for a while.

Massive Evidence Exposes Govt. 9/11 Myths
Comment by Larry Ross
August 17 , 2006

I have read MUJCA' articles and believe they are outstanding and very relevant. They add a lot of evidence to what we have been saying for a few years. Finally a significant number of people are joining the dots and coming to the obvious conclusions.

Building a New Drug Empire
Comment by Larry Ross
August 17, 2006

The U.S. has allied itself with some of the warlords in Afghanistan who control the poppyfields.
So things are getting back to normal with a flourishing drug industry. A steady supply of opium-based drugs is assured to the U.S. and other international markets. This is one example of the "freedom and democracy" the U.S. is giving to Afghanistan society.
Afghan opium cultivation hits a record:
Opium cultivation in Afghanistan has hit record levels - up by more than 40 percent from 2005 - despite hundreds of millions in counternarcotics money, Western officials told The Associated Press.

Top Republican Claims Bushcons Organised 9/11 Attack

Comment by Larry Ross
July 17, 2006

Morgan Reynolds joins a growing group of well-known Americans who have exposed the truth that the 9/11 attack was an inside job. The attack's purpose was to persuade Americans that this was a new "Pearl Harbour" attack on the U.S.A. Then the Bush Administration with media cooperation used that attack to fool Americans into supporting a "war on terrorism" and specific wars on Afghanistan, Iraq and in the future, other targets. The object, as indicated in the neocon PNAC papers, was to start up a "long war" in the Middle East - to conquer the territory - and control the world's oil resources.

Media hide the truth: 9/11 was inside job
by Kevin Barrett
May 14, 2006

Last Saturday, former Bush administration official Morgan Reynolds drew an enthusiastic capacity crowd to the Wisconsin Historical Society auditorium. It is probably the first time in Historical Society history that a political talk has drawn a full house on a Saturday afternoon at the beginning of final exams.
Reynolds, the former director of the Criminal Justice Center at the National Center for Policy Analysis, and the ex-top economist for George W. Bush's Labor Department, charged the Bush administration with gross malfeasance, and proposed the prosecution of top administration officials.

Conspiracy and Closed Minds on 9/11
by Morgan Reynolds
March 13, 2006

While more Americans doubt the 9/11 story every week, evidence abounds that many have a mental block against rational examination of the evidence about 9/11. The possibility that it was an inside job is a non-starter for them. Programmed “cut outs” insure that 9/11 doubts are consigned to the “conspiracy” closet.
Last June I was explaining the fuss over my 9/11 article to a family member who shall remain anonymous and he interrupted and said, “I don't want to talk about it.” Millions join him in that sentiment. By implication they might as well say: “I'd rather cling to the official 9/11 myth” = “If mass murderers run free, I'm fine with that” = “If 9/11 was an inside job, then I'm ruled by monsters and I might have to do something about it, I'd rather watch Paris Hilton.”
Where does this passive attitude come from? Causes are many but American indoctrination has two sides that figure prominently in the explanation:

Scott Ritter Speaks Out on U.S. Plans to Nuke Iran
Comment by Larry Ross
July 7, 2006

He reveals how the U.S. conspired to ensure that the very successful UN inspection and disarmament efforts were torpedoed, so that the U.S. and UK could engage in mass bombing of Iraq's non-existent weapons-of-mass destruction, crippling sanctions that killed thousands of Iraqi children, and eventually, war based on lies. It is a very, very revealing talk that helps one really understand the continuing deceit practiced by the U.S. and UK governments on their own people about Iraq, Iran and middle-east affairs during the preceding decades. He also has many revealing insights and advice to peace activists.

Transcript and Audio of Scott Ritter on war with Iraq and Iran

by Scott Ritter
November 17, 2005

"I wish we were here to talk about how good things are happening in the cause of peace, how congress has reversed course and they're bringing our boys and girls home, how the Bush administration has woke up suddenly and said, ‘you know, this concept of global domination through the unilateral application of military force is not sound policy,' and the Democrats woke up for the first time in a long time and said, ‘you know, we facilitated this war in Iraq. We're as much to blame as George W. Bush.' But that's not the case. We live in a time where bad things are happening. .."

US WAR ON IRAQ BUSH EMPIRETERRORISM
Comment by Larry Ross
July 5, 2006

The U.S. has deliberately created  terrorism and chaos in Iraq where there has been none before to justify it's continued military occupation and control of the territory.  There has been little U.S. effort to rebuild what they have destroyed - as they continue to lay waste the country and wantonly kill and imprison the people.. William Blum chronicles the U.S. dismal imperial record in the following article.

Great Moments in the History of Imperialism
By William Blum
June 23, 2006

National Public Radio foreign correspondent Loren Jenkins, serving in NPR's Baghdad bureau, met earlier this month with a senior Shiite cleric, a man who was described in the NPR report as "a moderate" and as a person trying to lead his Shiite followers into practicing peace and reconciliation. He had been jailed by Saddam Hussein and forced into exile. Jenkins asked him: "What would you think if you had to go back to Saddam Hussein?" The cleric replied that he'd "rather see Iraq under Saddam Hussein than the way it is now."[1]
