Although the Iraq war was planned before 9/11, as we and many others have said, this 2002 article reminds us of the details. It is staggering and stupefying that the US people, Congress, and media swallowed Bush's lies about the reasons for his war on Iraq when the true facts about Bush's motives and plans were well known. The article indicates the complicity of the media, Congress and others in helping the Bush regime implement its war plans and repeat his many lies. It is only with the help of the media that Bush lies triumphed over the truth and sold most Americans on the justification for war.

15 September 2002: A SECRET blueprint for US global domination reveals that President Bush and his cabinet were planning a premeditated attack on Iraq to secure 'regime change' even before he took power in January 2001.
The blueprint, uncovered by the Sunday Herald, for the creation of a 'global Pax Americana' was drawn up for Dick Cheney (now vice- president), Donald Rumsfeld (defence secretary), Paul Wolfowitz (Rumsfeld's deputy), George W Bush's younger brother Jeb and Lewis Libby (Cheney's chief of staff). This is a definitive account about how the Bush Administration has used the 9/11 attack to destroy freedom and democracy in America.
They have systematically removed many civil rights and liberties of Americans and visitors and enacted a myriad of new laws and regulations. These repressive measures may well effect other governments some of whom may enact similar repressive measures. At the same time Bush has decreed and legislated greatly increased power for himself and his administration. In effect he has become a de facto dictator

Today's America is a much less free place than the America of 2000. Following the attacks of September 11, 2001, the Bush administration has, by word and by deed, erected an edifice of repression here in the United States.

Although Congressman Keith Ellison did not directly accuse the Bush Administration of masterminding the 9/11 attack, he said many of Bush's actions afterward were very similar to those of Adolph Hitler who seized dictatorial power and waged unjustified wars, after the Nazis had burned down the Reichstag. If more US politicians state similar truths, and perhaps reveal more about the mystery of 9/11 it is a step toward stopping the continuing crimes and wars of the Bush Administration. 

America's first Muslim congressman has provoked outrage by apparently comparing President George W Bush to Adolf Hitler and hinting that he might have been responsible for the September 11 attacks.

It's good to see the NYT coming out with some limited criticism of Bush's Iraq war and his domestic scare tactics.
It's a pity it is so little and 4 years late.
The NYT does not apologize for endlessly repeating the lies which the Bush Administration invented justify the war. They don't mention that the war is based on lies and is still totally illegal. In fact they accept the war and write with the arrogant assumption that their readers also accept the war lies as facts of life not to be questioned. They confine their arguments to the methods Bush uses to try and win his illegal war. Sometimes they express a little worry about 3,900 US military casualties. But never any concern about the continuing murder by the Bush Administration of some 655,000 Iraqis.
Nevertheless the occasional glimmer of light and independence from America 's supposedly greatest newspaper is welcome, even if fleeting.
Like most US mass media, the NYT repeats Bush lies and accusations about Iran , carefully preparing and conditioning reader's minds to accept Bush's coming war on Iran.  What kind of independent journalism is that?

It had to happen. President Bush's bungling of the war in Iraq has been the talk of the summer. On Capitol Hill, some of the more reliable Republicans are writing proposals to force Mr. Bush to change course. A showdown vote is looming in the Senate. Enter, stage right, the fear of terrorism.

It is really a matter of objectively considering the facts, cutting through the double think, propaganda and party loyalties to make an honest analysis - and perhaps face some very unpleasant facts and suspicions. Some of the best analysts are from the right of the political spectrum - people like John Paul Roberts and Morgan Reynolds. I really respect and feature their work although I would be labelled as from the left of the political spectrum. In fact I'm neither right nor left and reject this kind of 'don't think' labelling.
The labels 'right and left' when applied to people or political thoughts often inhibits a rational consideration of the issue at hand. The tendency is to generate an immediate bias and then dismiss the issue without consideration.

James Bamford, author and long-time expert on the CIA says the recent CIA released "crown jewels" of CIA operations from 1950 into the 1970's, "seems so minor compared to what the CIA is doing today".

... Among the many examples of how the CIA today makes the agency detailed in the "crown jewels" documents look pallid by comparison is the system of torture created by the Bush administration in the treatment of suspected terrorists. Along with the Iraq War, the CIA's "renditions" and "black sites" greatly add to what Julianne Smith of the Center for Strategic and International Studies calls "the rather dark shadow [cast] on our relationship with our European allies," and much of the rest of the world.

The author accepts that 9/11 and the various London bombings were done by Muslim terrorists. However he illuminates that Western wars based on lies and repeated and indiscriminate bombings and related crimes have caused the kind of blind, irrational fury that breeds terrorism and counter-productive unjustified actions. It's so true and so good to have it described this way.  One factor that I would add is the many doubts about 9/11 and the London bombings and the suspicions by 1/3rd of Americans, that these terrorist events were arranged by Western regimes as 'false flags' to generate hatred and suspicion of all things Muslim and to justify Bush's pre-planned 'endless wars on terror'. In fact a close look indicates that Bush's wars on Afghanistan and Iraq had nothing to do with those who were alleged to have committed the terrorist actions. One really puzzling aspect of this huge injustice is that the Bush regime has been able to get away with such a litany of lies for so long.

London and Glasgow: Worse Than a Crime, a Mistake

Pundits and self-appointed experts on Islam are wringing their hands as they try to explain why two Muslim doctors and at least six other medical workers were involved in this week's failed bombings in London and Glasgow.
It certainly sounds horrific and counter-intuitive. Physicians, trained to heal, turned into would-be mass murders with cars packed full of explosive materials and nails. Since I'm writing a book on why the Muslim world is so angry at the west, let me venture some heretical thoughts.

The McClatchy papers have revealed as lies, what the major US mass media print as truth. The lies Bush is still using to justify his illegal war on Iraq, are blowing back as exposed lies. But even McClatchy while exposing the lies, are careful not to call Bush a liar. That is a conclusion the reader has to come to. Bush is using these lies to justify the continued unjustifiable, slaughter of Iraqis and the preparations for an endless long-term war and still wider war with Iran. The media usually repeat Bush lies, and totally phoney justifications for war, as acceptable facts of life without critical comment. No wonder most Americans are a confused, ill-informed living in a media-generated bubble of ignorance.

Struggling to stem growing opposition to his Iraq policy even among Republicans, President Bush contended anew Tuesday that the perpetrators of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in the United States are the same as al Qaida in Iraq, a violent Iraqi insurgent group that didn't exist until after the 2003 U.S.-led invasion.
It was the second time in two weeks that Bush has made the link in an apparent attempt to transform lingering fear of another U.S. terrorist attack into backing for the current buildup of U.S. troops in Iraq.
"Al Qaida is doing most of the spectacular bombings, trying to incite sectarian violence," Bush told a business group in Cleveland, Ohio. "The same people that attacked us on September the 11th is a crowd that is now bombing people, killing innocent men, women and children, many of whom are Muslims."

I totally agree with this essay. In many ways it is very similar to what I have been saying on my website which covers many of the subjects mentioned. My only worry is that there is not the time or resources required to reach enough people that will somehow prevent the Bush regime from carrying out their agenda. ...
Bush is a committed 'End Times' believer, who thinks he is doing God's will by bring on Armageddon. This ending is looked forward to by a powerful minority of Americans. Their leaders have access to, and much influence on Bush.

We are truly in a war. It is not the war we imagine we are in, which is the way our true adversaries want it. It is not a foreign war against a foreign enemy. It is a war on consciousness, a war on our own minds. The global war on terror that is being fought around the world is an embodied reflection in the material world of a deeper, more fundamental war that is going on in the realm of consciousness itself.

... To Libby and his fellows lying is second nature and regarded as a tool in their kit box of tricks to deceive the public into wars like Iraq, and Iran to come. They invent various justifications for their lies, war plans and grandiose ambitions such as the goal of US global domination. They use the language and trigger words of 'Democracy, Freedom, Liberty, Free Expression', etc., to gain public approval and support for plans and wars based on gross deceit and deception. The psychopathogy of Bush makes the choice of such liars for top positions a very essential thing to do. If you decide on going for global domination, that means lots of lies, endless wars and killings and misery for all except those few people at the top of the military-industrial-political complex. President Eisenhower warned about the malign influence power of the "military-industrial complex" just before he left office in 1960. Almost 50 years later it is much more powerful. Wars are fabulously profitable for the few.

Begging His Pardon

We have yet another remarkable revelation of the mindset of Washington's ruling clique of neoconservative elites - the people who took us to war from the safety of their Beltway bunkers. Even as Iraq grows bloodier by the day, their passion of the week is to keep one of their own from going to jail.
It is well-known that I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby - once Vice President Cheney's most trusted adviser - has been sentenced to 30 months in jail for perjury. Lying. Not a white lie, mind you. A killer lie. Scooter Libby deliberately poured poison into the drinking water of democracy by lying to federal investigators, for the purpose of obstructing justice.

The more I read, the more convinced I am that the 9/11 attacks were an inside job engineered by the Bush Administration. But I would be relieved to be able to change my mind if anyone was able to answer the many questions on our site. They can start with the amazing facts and questions below. This was a major false flag operation that worked well and was believed. It still serves as a launch pad for Bush's 'wars on terror'. Because of his very low popularity and growing public doubts, the Bush Administration will probably launch another convincing 'false flag' like 9/11, then blame Iran as justification to launch his much rumoured attack on Iran. He has marshalled a huge naval strike force of ships and planes off Iran's coast for this purpose.

The Bush/Blair deceptions to gain support before launching their illegal war on Iraq are one of the major crimes of our era.

A New Zealand Supreme Court judge has launched a blistering attack on outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair, effectively calling him a war criminal for his role in the Iraq conflict.
Justice Ted Thomas, who retired last year but still presides over ongoing cases, told the Sunday Star-Times yesterday that Blair "deceived Cabinet, parliament and the British people" over the war.

Colonel Lankford suggests you use Google to verify any comments he makes. He mentions a number of whistle blowers in government or University that have asked awkward questions or exposed Government lies about 9/11. Many have suffered the consequences of their honesty. A growing number of people who have researched the 9/11 questions, have become convinced that the Bush Administration staged a 'false flag' terrorist attack on the US to create a false 'Pearl Harbour'. The intention was to get public support to make war under the new catch-all slogan of 'war on terrorism'.

.... Are you afraid that you will learn the truth and you can't handle it? I think I know some people in that category. Are you afraid you will draw the attention of thugs who could do the things that were done that day? Do you believe your fellow man is just not capable of that degree of evil? I would not have believed that my country would ever become a torture state and have the Congress arguing with the executive about it. The following article in the London Times is a good example of US-UK collaboration in planting false stories to justify an attack on Iran. Tony Blair is probably staying in office as a trusted US war collaborator until sometime after the US launches the attack. The comments following the article are most valuable in pointing out how closely this false story is to the ones the UK used to justify the Bush-Blair illegal war on Iraq. M15 and other intelligence agencies in the UK and US are now an integral part of the US-UK deception campaign......
Just as the Germans believed Hitler's lies, so the US-UK publics are likely to believe really 'big lies' about Iran. Murdock is the man to give these lies to the people using the London Times.
Some newspapers in New Zealand are playing a similar role, often choosing to reprint blatant propaganda stories from the Murdock paper, in preference to more balanced comment and objective real news stories, such as one sees in The Guardian or Independent.

Spy chiefs warn that one operative had said he was planning an attack on “a par with Hiroshima and Nagasaki” in an attempt to “shake the Roman throne”, a reference to the West.

I cannot recall a single day since Vulcans' Godfather James Baker sent his thuggish henchman John Bolton to Florida's Palm Beach County to screw up the vote count that has not been filled with horror, anger, shame -- despair. So he rubbished her doubts, while carefully skirting the demolition theory on the destruction of WTC 7.

Prof David Ray Griffin's new book: "Debunking the Debunker" exposes the flaws in the Popular Mechanics defence of the official story. Joshua Holland, if he is sincere, would probably change his views on the official 9/11 story if he could bring himself to read this book.

Professor Griffin's new book "Debunking 9/11 Debunking" meticulously dissects the flaws in Bush's official story about the 9/11 attacks in 2001.
Paul Craig Roberts gives a splendid review of it below and agrees with its findings. But the implications that the Official Story of the 9/11 attacks was basically a collection of lies and myths is not examined in detail in this article. However the appalling conclusions and implications must be made.

The 9/11 attack has been used to start wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, to plan an attack on Iran, to curtail constitutional protections and civil liberties in the US, to radically expand US military budgets and the power of the executive, and to enrich entrenched vested interests.

Has our "leadership" traded democracy for empire? Have their over-bloated egos convinced them that they are the world's newly crowned colonial kings? Author Chalmers Johnson is certainly not given to wearing rose-colored glasses. As he concludes in his newest book, Nemesis: "... my country is launched on a dangerous path that it must abandon or else face the consequences."

How do you deal with a power-mad and delusional President pursuing  a plan of endless wars for Empire, who has already killed at least 655,000 people and plans to soon begin a new war on Iran using nuclear weapons? I think Dennis Kucinich is right, that Bush must be impeached, urgently, if this disaster is to be stopped before Bush's military activities trigger a world war III.

This past week in the Congress of the United States, I noted that the administration has threatened aggressive war against Iran. This is a violation of the UN charter. Charters are treaties. Article 6 of the Constitution of the United States says that treaties are the law of our land, the supreme law of our land. It's illegal to threaten aggressive war against another nation.

This article based on opinions of a Spanish judge that Bush should face charges as a war criminal for his illegal war on Iraq based on lies, is vitally important. It should be read by everyone who accepts Bush lies as truth, and by those who deny, justify, minimize or accept the continuing situation today. Its findings are similar to our own at the PANNZ mock war crimes trial of Bush, Blair and Howard that we held in August 2004 in Christchurch New Zealand. Every MP, government servant, and member of the legal profession, and other interested person should read this and consider their own and their nation's policies.

[JURIST] Baltasar Garzon [BBC profile; JURIST news archive ], an investigating judge for Spain's National Court [official website, in Spanish], said Tuesday that President George W. Bush and his allies eventually should face war crimes charges for their actions in Iraq. In an opinion piece [text, in Spanish] for El Pais , Garzon called the war in Iraq "one of the most sordid and unjustifiable episodes in recent human history." Garzon also criticized those who joined the US president in the war against Iraq as having equally responsible for joining the war effort despite their doubts. In 1999, Garzon tried to extradite former Chilean dictator General Augusto Pinochet [JURIST news archive] from Britain and try him for crimes against humanity. Reuters has more .

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's dramatic confessions before a US military hearing are beginning to backfire on the Bush administration. Legal experts are casting serious doubt about their validity as evidence, and human rights activists say they only illuminate a "sham process" of justice in the US war on terror, including the apparent use of torture on Mohammed and potentially dozens of other al-Qa'ida suspects.

Bush has established a record as spinning a litany of lies to fool the American people and Congress into supporting an illegal assault, bombing, invasion and occupation of Iraq . He is also spinning similar lies about Iran as an excuse to make war on Iran . He has destroyed Iraq and killed some 655,000 Iraqis. Thus he is a war criminal who has violated the US Constitution and should be impeached. There is suspicion that his crimes may be far greater, regarding the 9/11 issue. So is it any wonder that he wants to be able to suppress if not destroy any evidence of these crimes? The fact that he has taken steps to prevent some of his papers from being seen indicates this.

This was a day that changed the Bush presidency and the nation's history.
Scholars and archivists will one day travel to the Bush presidential library on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas to learn more about the nation's leaders and the decisions they made on that day.
The history textbooks and papers that they will write after visiting the Bush library might very well be incomplete.
"On November 1, 2001, less than two months after the September 11, 2001 attacks, Bush issued an executive order that allows former presidents to keep some of their papers secret indefinitely. This executive order violates the Presidential Records Act of 1978, legislation that guarantees public access to papers 12 years after a president has left office.... This order should be overturned so that historians and scholars will get an honest portrait of the Bush administration and future administrations," writes the Republican.

I have always admired George Monbiot's articles about the Iraq war and the Bush Administration. That makes it very hard to understand why Monbiot rubbished those very eminent well-known writers and scholars who questioned the official 9/11 story. Below, David Ray Griffin, one of the best authorities on 9/11, answers Monbiot. His forthcoming book in April will give a far more thorough answer to Monbiot and others like him.

In “ Bayoneting a Scarecrow The 9/11 conspiracy theories are a coward's cult.” (Guardian, February 20), George Monbiot accuses members of the 9/11 truth movement of being “morons” and “idiots” who believe in “magic.” Having in his previous attack---“ A 9/11 conspiracy virus is sweeping the world, ” Guardian, February 6---called me this movement's “high priest,” he now describes my 9/11 writing as a “concatenation of ill-attested nonsense.”

Bush and the hand-picked collection of neo-conservatives in his administration control the most powerful forces in human history - enough to kill the world's population many times over. Add to that the other 8 nuclear weapon states that might be triggered into action by Bush's pre-emptive wars as described in Griffin 's paper. The world and humanity face extreme threats from a criminal regime operating on lies, delusions and grandiose ambitions.  

My purpose in publishing this essay is to introduce a perspective, relevant to the debates about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney, that thus far has not been part of the public discussion.

Paul Craig Roberts Sums Up World Crisis

Paul Craig Roberts has had a brilliant career as Assistant Secretary to the US Treasury under Reagan and many other prestigious positions and achievements. The following article is Roberts at his best and brilliantly sums up our predicament and the extraordinary circumstances behind it. I give it my highest recommendation.

The Bush-Cheney regime is America's first neoconservative regime. In a few short years, the regime has destroyed the Bill of Rights, the separation of powers, the Geneva Conventions, and the remains of America's moral reputation along with the infrastructures of two Muslim countries and countless thousands of Islamic civilians. Plans have been prepared, and forces moved into place, for an attack on a third Islamic country, Iran, and perhaps Syria and Hezbollah in Lebanon as well.

Many Americans who look into 9/11 questions may be terrified at the thought that a criminal conspiracy has taken over control of America, that the US military has been part of the conspiracy and cover up, and that it controls the worlds biggest nuclear arsenal - enough weapons to kill all life on earth many times over. It is not surprising that many will choose to disbelieve the story, regardless of proofs, or place it in the 'too hard' basket.

. . . Side by side, the two documents are almost identical. But there is one difference. The new order includes an extra passage in the policy section that mentions two new kinds of airborne vehicles, “unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)” and “remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).” The order states that these are to be regarded as “a potential threat to public safety.” But why did two new categories of aerial vehicles require the drafting of a new order, especially since the basic policy did not change? I puzzled over this for some time, until I stumbled upon a news story about the Global Hawk, prompting further investigations. These have convinced me that the June 1, 2001 pentagon order could be one of the keys to what happened on 9/11.

Monbiot is doing his best to outlaw 9/11 doubts, and foster belief in Bush's official explanations.
But Bush and his neocon regime are war criminals who lied to the public to get their support for his illegal war against Iraq and are now doing the same to get their support for a war on Iran . His lies and his killing of 250,000+ Iraqis for no legitimate reason other than they oppose the invader, not only makes him a war criminal but also a criminal against the US Constitution. It is one of the biggest frauds of all time.
