Bush Retaliates Against Michael Moore |
July 28, 2007 |
||
Bush has found a way to retaliate against Michael Moore, both for his earlier film exposure, "Fahrenheit 9/11" and new film "Sicko" which attacks Bush's health care system and the US drug industry. Also, Bush and his neocons hate Cuba's very enlightened and comprehensive medical care system that shows up the failings of the US profit-driven healthcare system which fewer and fewer Americans can afford. No wonder they have a regime of punishments for Americans curious enough to go to Cuba and find out for themselves. Michael Moore has found and told the truth again to fellow Americans. That has made him an enemy to the Bush Administration. See: Letter from Michael Moore |

Vonnegut Names Bush & Associates As Psychopathic Personalities |
May 31, 2007 |
||
Vonnegut accurately names the Bush medical ailment as that of having a psychopathic personality. This fits Bush and his associates and their behaviour like a glove. They have no guilt for their many lies and no remorse for their crimes. They feel justified in whatever they do. Thus Bush claims he is in communication with God who advises him. This kind of delusion in a 'so-called' Christian country like the US is accepted as perfectly normal. To the true believers this delusion is real and meritorious. It proves Bush is a man of God and is therefore virtuous and heavenly inspired. Bush's followers show that belief reinforces the Bush delusion, thus helping immunize Bush against advice contrary to his own psychopathic wishes and impulses. |

Overthrow, America's Century of Regime Change from Hawaii to Iraq |
Book by Stephen Kinzer |
May 23, 2007 |
|
The recent of Saddam Hussein may have turned "regime change" into a contemporary buzzword, but it's been a tactic of American foreign policy for more than 110 years. Beginning with the ouster of Hawaii's monarchy in 1893, Kinzer runs through the foreign governments the U.S. has had a hand in toppling. |
634 WAYS TO KILL FIDEL CASTRO |
May 17, 2007 |
||
It's amazing that Fidel Castro managed to survive all the US assassination attempts to kill him. Castro has introduced many reforms in all fields, particularly free health and educational services. Rather than earning US approval, this has not diminished US government and media demonization of Cuba or US sanctions against it. It makes one wonder how long Hugo Chavez of Venezuela will survive if US tries similar assassination attempts on him. Like Castro defeating a US-based dictatorship, Chavez has also defied the US by his crime of nationalising Venezuela's oil for Venezuelans. Given the record of US installed and supported military dictatorships in Latin America, will the Bush regime, or those that may take over the Bush mantle, go back to this strategy? |
The book - 634 WAYS TO KILL FIDEL CASTRO by Fabián Escalante |
|||
The Secret War series In a highly readable and informative style, Fabián Escalante reviews over four decades of attempts to kill Fidel Castro—involving weapons that ranged from exploding cigars and poison pens to grenades and bazookas. As the former director of Cuban counterintelligence, Escalante played a significant role in frustrating many of these assassination plans, made by the CIA and the Mafia under a project codenamed "Executive Action." Although melodramatic and at times quite comical, these plots were deadly serious—and illegal, as subsequent U.S. government inquiries such as the 1975 Church Commission concluded. |
Neocon Manipulation Of US Media |
April 26, 2007 |
||
Every would be dictatorship tries to control the content, bias and slant of information fed to their publics. This applies particularly if they are deliberately lying to their publics and planning to gain public support for their wars. Once they start a war, they have many other opportunities to legislate for funds to fight the war, as well as legislate laws such as The Patriot Act that will facilitate the establishment of the planned shift from democracy to dictatorship. The Bush regime is no different and has taken the American public well along this road. Bill Moyers presents a useful video on this process below. |
VIDEO: Bill Moyers Journal :"Buying the War" |

Bill Moyers and his team piece together the reporting that shows how the media were complicit in shaping the "public mind" toward the war, and ask what's happened to the press' role as skeptical "watchdog" over government. http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/042307P.shtml |

Is the American Empire on the Brink of Collapse? |
by Mark Karlin |
March 24, 2007 |
|
I believe that we're close to a tipping point right now. What happened to the Soviet Union between 1989 and 1991 could easily be happening to us for essentially the same reasons. Imperial overreach, inability to reform, rigid economic ideology. ... The world's balance of power didn't change one iota on September 11, 2001. The only way we could lose the power and influence we had at that time was through our own actions, and that's what we did. -- Chalmers Johnson, author of Nemesis: The Last Days of the American Republic |

. . . But will it be enough, will it reach enough people? Will it actually motivate them to do enough to stop the Bush regime? Bear in mind the colossal forces, power, money and millions of skilled personnel of the military-industrial-congressional-media complex. Most are dedicated servants of the Bush neocon regime. Opposing that are some dedicated US citizens. But is there enough to make a dent in the plans, plots and covert deceptions of the trillion dollar Bush regime? |
Chalmers Johnson: "Nemesis: The Last Days of the American Republic" |
Interview by Amy Goodman |
February 27, 2007 |
|
In his new book, CIA analyst, distinguished scholar, and best-selling author Chalmers Johnson argues that US military and economic overreach may actually lead to the nation's collapse as a constitutional republic. It's the last volume in his Blowback trilogy, following the best-selling "Blowback" and "The Sorrows of Empire." In those two, Johnson argued American clandestine and military activity has led to un-intended, but direct disaster here in the United States. [includes rush transcript] |

Francis Boyle, a law Professor at U of Illinois, is the legal architect of the The Biological Weapons Convention and the Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act of 1989. He has written a vitally important book: Biowarfare and Terrorism by Francis A. Boyle, Clarity Press, Atlanta, Georgia, USAT It is available through: amazon.co.uk or amazon.com for US$12.95. The biological weapons threat to humanity, is as great as the growing nuclear threat as Professor Boyles book shows. Here is a review of that book. |

Unprecedented warnings from the scientific community indicate that the planet's ecosystems are stressed near the point of collapse; business as usual is no longer possible, and we have little time left to respond. Civilization is also approaching a nexus of social crises. All of these problems result from the nature of capitalism, and we cannot expect solutions from political leaders or corporations. Therefore, this author is soliciting advice from experts and from anyone who might have suggestions as to what measures can people of limited means undertake to ease their transition into a post-petroleum world. Submissions will be published in a book, the profits of which will be used to inform people and possibly provide grants in order to help people prepare for the coming transition. |
Exclusive Brethren |
Comment by Larry Ross |
November 26, 2006 |
|
You may remember ex-CIA agent Ralph McGeehee who toured NZ for us back in the 80's. He said, and books by ex-CIA people also confirm that, the CIA often uses right-wing religious groups like EBs as a cover to channel funds to groups in countries the CIA wants to influence. In NZ we do know the US wants to get rid of NZ N-Free legislation and get NZ back on track sending NZ troops to US wars and hosting their warships. So it makes sense to suspect that perhaps the CIA has a role in supplying money and direction to NZ EBs for this purpose. |

This piece, which appears in the November 16, 2006 issue of the New York Review of Books , is posted here with the kind permission of the editors of that magazine. James Lovelock is among the planet's most interesting and productive scientists. His invention of an electron capture device that was able to detect tiny amounts of chemicals enabled other scientists both to understand the dangers of DDT to the eggshells of birds and to figure out the ways in which chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) were eroding the ozone layer. He's best known, though, not for a gadget but for a metaphor: the idea that the earth might usefully be considered as a single organism (for which he used the name of the Greek earth goddess Gaia) struggling to keep itself stable. |

This review of 'WITH GOD ON OUR SIDE was on an Amazon list of books and films offered for sale. It was one of the 3 million articles available from a Google search of 'MORGAN REYNOLDS'. Morgan worked most of his life in Washington and occupied many government positions. He is also professor emeritus of Texas University. He has researched and written extensively on 9/11 questions. I think most people would judge it very worthwhile if they Googled 'MORGAN REYNOLDS' and read some of his work. The power and ascendancy of the Fundamentalist Right, documented in the book reviewed below, will be of interest to those wishing to preserve our religious freedoms. |

A political and media onslaught is about to be unleashed with the indictments of a whole host of key White House officials (including you-know-who) caught up in the Plamegate coverup. The unraveling of this potentially treasonous scandal -- which began with the outing, for political reasons, of a covert CIA officer -- could well provide the tipping point that will allow the Democrats to retake the House in the next election, initiate Congressional investigations of Bush Administration crimes, and possibly even pass an impeachment resolution. |

Although this book was written in 1993, it is an excellent source book on the basic dangers of an accidental nuclear war that destroys our planet. He details many near misses. The most recent among many testing glitches
of the Bush administration missile defense program should remind us
that this exorbitant and heavily politicized effort should be scrapped.
Until September 11, in the eyes of conservatives, the litmus test for
patriotism was support for missile defense. Now they have moved on to
view backing for the troubled Iraq War as the badge of armchair courage.
Yet the 9/11 attacks demonstrated that the missile defense program did
not address the most severe threats facing the United States. |

In my book I will show you overwhelming evidence of their guilt, which I would be proud and confident to place either before a district attorney or a jury." |
