Why, Where and When Will Bush Use Nuclear Weapons?

You can click on articles of interest to find answers to the question in my title. Some of the best minds in America and the world are very concerned that Bush is leading the world toward a nuclear Armageddon. Also, that he intends to initiate the use of nuclear weapons directly, or indirectly and clandestinely, by blaming others.

These concerned people should not be be easily dismissed using the usual escape mechanisms we tend to use for unpleasant or unthinkable subjects and problems. On reflection most people would agree, that this is the greatest problem of all time - that any nuclear weapon state can directly, indirectly or inadvertently, initiate a nuclear holocaust and destroy humanity and our world forever.

At the moment George Bush seems to be the most likely candidate for such an action.

As long as we have a world overflowing with such extinction weapons, the problem will continue.

You might wonder why more people are not addressing this problem which is terminal and can happen in an instant. Is it because they don't know and refuse to find out?.

They may believe it's beyond their concern, too ridiculous to contemplate, and they can do nothing anyway. I must admit, that it baffles me why so many people don't want to know; don't want to even discuss the subject and are absolutely determined to devote their time to any myriad of other events and concerns. Some of the concerns, such as environmental degradation, are very altruistic. They seek to help the human race survive. That would be fine in a sometimes sane and rational world where people are still capable of an intelligent response, and wish to continue their existence.

But that does not apply to the problem of nuclear weapons use. This a 'here and now' problem which is growing bigger by the day. It can lead to extinction by accident or intention, through the use of weapons or strategies, now being applied, which can result in extinction.

Again I ask, why are not more people interested in exploring this problem and doing something about it.?

One central question: "Is Bush mad" or is Bush just pretending to be a fundamentalist Christian who believes in Armageddon theology and that God sanctions whatever he does? In other words is Bush real, or only pretending that he is a madman in charge of the world's destiny so that enemies, friends and allies will do as he wishes? You judge. A key factor in today's crisis, is that Bush has surrounded himself with like-minded cronies, fundamentalists, military and neocon extremists who agree and will not question whatever he wishes to do. Many talented, loyal, sane and honest people have left or been forced out of their positions for expressing doubts and reservations about the intentions and actions of the Bush Administrations. For example: How many Americans believe in an illegal invasion based on lies and continuing the killing of thousands of Iraqis? Not that many. How many Americans believe that a born-again alcoholic, who has licensed himself to use nuclear weapons, and is surrounded by yes-men and yes-women, is the ideal person to control and maybe use at his discretion, an arsenal of weapons that can destroy the world many times over? I don't think many Americans would agree with that.

I can only read a fraction of the following articles - some may be excellent - some may be poor and irrelevant. You be the judge. There are many other searches possible on this and related subjects, using differently worded instructions.

If you find a particularly good article, please foreword it to me. If you wish to help in this project and have ideas on what we should do, please email me at: webenquiry@nuclearfree.org.nz
