One Israel - Palestine State?

Israel has become a fascist-military state using the threat of its nuclear weapons to wage wars and expand into neighbouring territories such as Palestine.

It uses a string of lies, staged events and false accusations to justify these expansionist steps and fool its own people. One of it's formulas to stifle criticism is to accuse any critics as "anti-Semitic" or "anti-Jewish". Its prime target is Iran - a non-nuclear weapon nation that could not be a threat to Israel with it's arsenal of some 200-400 nuclear weapons. Nevertheless, the power of Israeli lies and war propaganda is great and dominates the media in Israel. As a result the majority of Israelis believe the false propaganda and support military action against Iran.

Professor Peppe is the latest casualty of this situation and is getting out of Israel before things get even worse. He offered an excellent idea to resolve the situation - a single Israeli-Palestinian state combining the territory and peoples of both states into one state. Although such solutions have often been done in history, usually the combination of states is due to one state conquering the other. Although it's a great idea that would resolve a very expensive bloody conflict, it's unlikely that Pappe's proposal will gain much support in Israel.

Controversial historian to quit Israel for UK

Ilan Pappe, a senior lecturer in the University of Haifa's Department of Political Science, says he is moving to the UK because it is "increasingly difficult to live in Israel" with his "unwelcome views and convictions."

In an interview in The Peninsula, Qatar's leading English-language daily, during a visit last week to Doha as a guest of the Qatar Foundation, Pappe said: "I was boycotted in my university and there had been attempts to expel me from my job. I am getting threatening calls from people every day. I am not being viewed as a threat to the Israeli society but my people think that I am either insane or my views are irrelevant. Many Israelis also believe that I am working as a mercenary for the Arabs."

Pappe is to join the History Department at Exeter University, in southwest England. He is active in anti-Israel academic boycott efforts.

Referred to in the Peninsula article as "the only
Jewish academic in Israel who is vehemently critical of Zionism," Pappe said the only solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict was the creation of a single state, shared by Jews, Arabs and others. He said that two independent states cannot coexist in "the land of Palestine."
