The following article is a good snapshot of how US culture is being engineered to become a servile, unquestioning
lumpenproletariat, blindly serving the wishes of a small, rich, power elite.

This climate of socially acceptable stupidity helps explain why so many millions of Americans have embraced the insane doctrines of the Christian Fundamentalists and their promise of a fiery armageddon. It shows why George Bush with his litany of lies justifying the Iraq war and promise of "endless new wars" and new nuclear weapon usage doctrines was seemingly re-elected in spite of massive evidence of fraud. Why the majority accepted this fraud and so few protested against it is illustrated by this "dumbed down" culture.

The ever larger circles of war and destruction, promised by George Bush and his "poodle" coalition of the 'not so willing', has a nuclear component most overlook, or are not aware of.

Bush has threatened to use nuclear weapons in conventional military situations. He has withdrawn from or neutralised international disarmament treaties like the NTP. He has given authority to field commanders to request nuclear weapons use. He has said he may make a pre-emptive nuclear strike against anyone he suspects has, or may acquire, nuclear weapons, that in his judgement might be used against the U.S. For example, both the US and UK threatened to use nuclear weapons against Iraq to achieve their goals. They did this having concocted a number of lies beforehand to justify their planned illegal invasion.

This establishes the fact that US and UK nuclear weapons are to be used as a threat, and one of the tools that can be actually used as required, to establish an American Empire. Previous restraints on nuclear weapons use
have been discarded. Some of the 7 other nuclear weapon states, and prospective new ones, will study the new US-UK nuclear and expansion policies and may change their own nuclear policies in similar ways to cope.
The US has mentioned Russia and China, and war situations involving them, as potential US nuclear targets.

Already on an instant "missile launch-on -warning" basis between the US and Russia, the world will become even more unstable, and liable to sudden and unexpected nuclear events which can trigger total war. Britain is a willing helper, or appendage, of US power.

The dumbed down population in the US and UK, whether they are aware of it or not, have demonstrated that they accept this strategy by re-electing it's architects - George Bush and Tony Blair.

The consequences of nuclear weapon use can rapidly escalate to a global conflagration and extinction for all life on our planet. Initiating illegal wars for conquest is a huge risk Bush and Blair are willing to take. It is a risk backed by their populations, who have been prepared to follow without knowledge or question, as the following article by Luciana Bohne illustrates.

You might think that reading about a Podunk University's English teacher's attempt to connect the dots between the poverty of American education and the gullibility of the American public may be a little trivial, considering we've embarked on the first, openly-confessed imperial adventure of senescent capitalism in the US, but bear with me. The question my experiences in the classroom raise is why have these young people been educated to such abysmal depths of ignorance.
