When liars are exposed and have committed major war crimes as a part of that lie, they do not suddenly admit they were wrong as the following story shows. They keep inventing new lies, trying to validate the original lie. They claim the new lie is from some super secret intelligence source that, for security reasons, can't be revealed. (Very much like the NZ case of Ahmed Zaoui, where the so-called super secret intelligence can't be revealed as to why Zaoui is still imprisoned without a charge or a reason.
As reported in the Tehran Times story, in this website under WMD, the Bush administration clandestinely moved WMD into Iraq " to be found" to give credibility to the Bush/Blair lie that Saddam had WMD threatening the US and UK. They claimed they had to bomb and kill thousands of Iraqis and invade in order to disarm Saddam before he launched an attack "in 45 minutes". Millions of people believe, and still believe this lie. So Bush/Blair are not about to give it up. Although the 'planting and then finding WMD' plot may have been aborted, I expect further such plots. For example today it was reported that Russian President Putin claimed that Russian intelligence revealed that Saddam was planning attacks. This seems to be an effort to help Bush/Blair fool the world, as there are many reasons to question the validity of this story.
It does not seem to matter how many times so-called "secret intelligence" is used to cover up Government lies so as to justify actions like the war on Iraq. They still use this tactic. The obedient media still report it as fact. People still believe the lies. Hitler taught "the bigger the lie, the more people will believe it". Exposure of the lies is essential, while we still have a relatively free society

Cheney, Still Without Proof Of A Saddam-Al Qaeda
Connection, Blames The Media

By Steve Soto, The Left Coaster, June 18, 2004

Bush and Cheney say it is wrong to suggest, as the 9/11 Commission reported, that there was no working relationship between Saddam and Al Qaeda. So what does Cheney do when he gets shown to be once again a “faith-based” consumer of intelligence?

He blames the media.

Then, he goes further and reintroduces the red herring that it was possible that Saddam had something to do with 9/11. And he did this last night, like a drunk who can’t quit the bottle.

He caps it off by saying that he “probably” knows something about the purported Saddam-Al Qaeda connection that the 9/11 Commission doesn’t know. Why is that Dick? Didn’t you and Charlie McCarthy meet with the commission jointly? Didn’t you provide all information you had on 9/11 to the commission? Why would you still have information related to 9/11 that wasn’t provided to the commission, unless a) you are still making shit up, and/or b) you never took the 9/11 Commission seriously and withheld information from them? Since you believe in an imperial presidency, and don’t feel the public has a right to know what goes on in their government, option (b) is very likely. But since no one else has come forward with a timeline and list of verified contacts and meetings showing a pattern of cooperation between Saddam and Al Qaeda, option (a) is just as likely.

In summary, since both Bush and Cheney allegedly cooperated with the commission and now take issue with its conclusions without providing proof that they are right, we could assume that they withheld information from the commission. And if they did withhold information, as Cheney indicates they did, then what else did they withhold? The other alternative to believe is that they are just like drunks who can’t let go of their faith-based intelligence, even when they have now been given plenty of opportunity to show their cards and prove their case, and have yet been able to do so.

In either case, both Bush and Cheney by their behavior have no claim to credibility on this purported connection between Saddam and 9/11 period, and it calls into question their credibility on 9/11 to begin with.
