US Ready For Global War Comment by Larry Ross, December 15, 2006
In other words they (meaning the Bush Administration or its successor) reserve the right to be intelligence interpreter, judge, jury and executioner. This is because any nuclear strike could kill a nation - or a number of nations. As they have already demonstrated a terrible failure of intelligence over the Iraq war, and many indications they have doctored and biased the intelligence to get the results they wanted to justify war, how can anyone judge the validity of US intelligence excuses they may give to justify a nuclear strike.? When the US talks of a global strike capability what do they specifically mean? Do they mean they can simultaneously strike every potential nuclear weapon site in the world.? If they did, what would happen to the other 8 nuclear arsenals in the world.? Would they have time to retaliate, or is the US intention to launch a surprise strike to catch them all unawares? How does the US know whether or not one or more other nuclear nations, might launch it own nuclear counter pre-emptive strike they thought the US was preparing to launch such a strike against then? What would be the environmental impact on the world of a simultaneous nuclear strike? How many nuclear weapons would be used, for various types of strike against one or more nations? What are US excuses for developing this capability, which sounds like the ability to destroy the rest of the world if it is a simultaneous land, sea and space nuclear strike, as is implied? If there was such a thing as "investigative journalism" in the US, the media would be full of penetrating stories on this development. But silence about critically important news stories that can effect human survival, rules the US mass media. It works - people exist in ignorance. People don't worry about what editors decide they should not know. In serving the Bush Administration, that's the way US editors and publishers want it. This power of life or death over planet earth, or over any nation, seems to be accepted without comment by the mass media as a perfectly normal routine development. Have editors been instructed to play it down, play it dumb and pretend they know nothing of this? In fact it is a horrendous development by a nation going for global domination. The US has already shown its disregard for truth and promoted its own lies as truth, in order to justify a barbarous war on Iraq, killing 655,000 people. If they will do that, and openly plan for a pre-emptive nuclear war against Iran using more lies as justification, is there any limit to what they might do? As they now believe they have a "Global Nuclear Strike Capability" and have tested it, don't you think a power-mad, religiously deluded and self-justified, but cornered and now rejected president might just use it? He has appointed all the right kind of people to do his will, even helping launch a nuclear strike. This development is a threat to the world and human survival. It is everyone's responsibility, within their capabilities, to do something about it to save our world from the nuclear madmen. Remember there is only one world and there are no second chances if we destroy and radiate it. All of us are its stewards, hopefully passing on a better world, a sustainable stable world, to our descendents.

Preemptive Nuclear War in a State of Readiness: by David Ruppe, January 2, 2006 WASHINGTON — The U.S. Strategic Command announced yesterday it had achieved an operational capability for rapidly striking targets around the globe using nuclear or conventional weapons, after last month testing its capacity for nuclear war against a fictional country believed to represent North Korea (see GSN , Oct. 21). In a press release yesterday, STRATCOM said a new Joint Functional Component Command for Space and Global Strike on Nov. 18 “met requirements necessary to declare an initial operational capability.” The requirements were met, it said, “following a rigorous test of integrated planning and operational execution capabilities during Exercise Global Lightning.” The annual Global Lightning exercise last month tested U.S. strategic warfare capabilities, including the so-called CONPLAN 8022 mission for a global strike, according to publicly available military documents. CONPLAN 8022 is “a new strike plan that includes [a] pre-emptive nuclear strike against weapons of mass destruction facilities anywhere in the world,” said Hans Kristensen, a consultant for the Natural Resources Defense Council. Kristensen first published the STRATCOM press release on his Web site, nukestrat.com . |

U.S. Command Declares Global Strike Capability has been in a state of readiness since 2004.
This very limited release raises many questions. |
