Another
Step to Self-Extinction
Comment by Larry Ross, August 23, 2005
Carefully analyse the Russian warning below. It is an ominous warning,
but unlikely to deter the Bush Administration's advanced war plans for
Iran.
All governments should know about Bush's policies on pre-emptive nuclear
war, instructions to the Pentagon for a nuclear assault plan that might
be used against Iran, taking out those nations the President decrees could
become potential enemies, his 'Axis of Evil' speech and what it means,
his Nuclear Posture Review, warning that up to 7 nations could be attacked
with US nuclear weapons including Russia and China and the 3 crisis situations
that could set it off: (1) The Middle East, (2) The Korean Peninsula (3)
China and Taiwan. There are more. The self-justifying, self-fulfilling
delusional aspects of Bush's reality, as he chooses to define and express
in his recent speeches, also have to be taken into account. Never forget
that Bush and Blair manufactured the hideous situation they studiously
defend and continue in spite of being exposed as dangerous liars.
I think the leaders of potential target nations will be taking all this
into account, as well as the unanswered 9/11 questions and the implications
of these questions, the growth and influence of hard right neocon extremists,
and the lies fabricated to justify the US, UK invasion of Iraq. Also,
that Bush and Blair said they were ready to use their nuclear weapons
against Iraq to support an invasion and bombing based on lies.
All this informs target nations of what might be expected in the future
for their nation. Will they make counter preparations? What might these
be?
The potential pre-emptive nuclear war means an unexpected sudden attack
with nuclear weapons designed to disarm and defeat a potential enemy.
It also means destroying a potential enemies' nuclear missiles before
they can be launched in response. That is what Bush's antimissile defence
system is supposed to do. But so far, it does not work. If potential target
nations for a pre-emptive nuclear attack begin to believe that Bush and
his neocons are mad enough to do it, what do you think the response of
potential target nations might be?
Nuclear weapons have emerged smoothly from the 'no, never closet' to acceptable
options in conventional military operations thanks to mass media handling
of the issue. Mass media are basically treating the situation as perfectly
normal and nothing to get excited or worried about. Media hardly cover
the issue at all. If people notice these astounding developments of nuclear
policy and threats at all, there is little or no reaction. Most people
take their cue as to the importance of an issue, from the mass media.
It is subjects such as Michael Jackson, baseball, football, golf etc that
are classed as important. The growing potential for a nuclear extinction
is not treated as important.
People respond to this media
climate by not thinking, not worrying and not trying to change these important
threats. The human race has been taught not to be concerned about the
very real and growing threat of it's own extinction.
Nuclear weapons have finally proved to be too tempting, and are being
used to further the power-mad ambitions of totally (I mean totally) unscrupulous
leaders, who claim public support by sloganeering. ... It's "they
hate us for spreading democracy and freedom"..."We must strike
them in their countries before they attack us in ours (Bush August 23,
2005)" ... "God is on our side and inspires our war effort"
etc.
In many ways we live in an intelligent go-ahead world of many accomplishments
and focus on positive tangible aspects of our lives. We also live in a
very different secret kind of world that many are only dimly aware of
and tend to dismiss. This secret behind the scenes world, has 5,000 nuclear
missiles on instant alert status, ready to launch a nuclear extinction
war "by accident, miscalculation or act of madness"(Pres. Kennedy
1962) that could destroy the planet in a few hours. Most people have got
used to living on this brink or extinction, been taught to accept it and
avoid thinking about it.

The
next World War starts in Iran
By Mike Whitney,

"We consider that it would be counter-productive
and dangerous to use force, the serious consequences of which would be
barely predictable." warning from the Russian Foreign Ministry to
the Bush Administration about prospective plans to attack Iran
There's only one thing that Americans need
to remember when the read about the standoff between the Bush administration
and Iran. There is no evidence whatsoever that Iran has a nuclear weapons
program. But, don't take my word for it. That is the conclusion of Mohammed
El Baradei, the chief of the UN's watchdog agency, the International Atomic
Energy Agency; the most respected nuclear investigative agency in the
world today.
After conducting 2 years of the most rigorous
"go anywhere, see anything" investigations, the agency gave
Iran a clean bill of health.
No nukes! Not now, not ever! Continue...
