In US - Essential to Build US Empire
The fact that Bush's military cannot cope
with the deteriorating situation in Iraq does not stop them from proceeding
with the pre-planned 'US' conquest of Iran, Syria and other states. Bush
will probably begin to draft Americans for war, and increase incentives
to employ more military contractors - known previously as "war mercenaries".
He may pressure so-called 'allies' better known today as 'war crime collaborators',
such as Tony Blair, to send more of their troops to help the US conquest.
Blair will try and reassure the UK public to try and get re-elected -
then send more troops, if elected. Bush and his colleagues and his corporate
media hammer home the theme that this illegal series of conquests is really
a "war on terror" and should be supported without question. From the beginning, Bush's wars were never
wars against terrorists. For example Iraq had no terrorists and Saddam
Hussein was an enemy of Osama Bin Laden. US Intelligence and Foreign Policy
experts told Bush and his neocons this. But it didn't coincide with neocon
war plans. So they rejected the advice and terminated UN inspections of
Iraq before the UN inspectors could find that there were no nuclear weapons. His wars destroy nations, killing and maiming
over 100,000 men woman and children in Iraq. A few so-called "terrorists"
were killed or captured. Most of these were simply opponents protecting
their nation against US attack. However US bombing, imprisoning, torturing,
shaming and killing and sheer brutality, succeeded in making Iraq a new
training ground for opposing forces. Bush labelled these opponents of
aggression as "terrorists" and proceeded to use them as justification
for more severe US attacks and bombing - such as in Fallujah, which he
turned to rubble. Using this tried and proven formula, he continues to
create more hatred and opposition, which in turn he uses to justify evermore
US military action. People actually believe him. The famous peace activist
and author Dr Helen Caldicott, says Bush's re-election means endless war
and increasing nuclear war risks during his next four years as President.
She says his administration is much worse than that of Ronald Reagan.
Bush's formula for "endless war" is accepted as valid by the
millions of Americans who loyally support him. Of course millions don't
but they are relatively silent, powerless and inert. They are also very,
very frugal and very apathetic, when it comes to giving their time and
resources to peace causes - even when their very existence is threatened.
Why is this so? A traumatic event is needed to transform
people's thinking. To accomplish this transformation in people's normal
response - the inconceivability of nuclear war and using nuclear weapons
- the neocons will probably stage some kind of incident that will be used
to justify it - like another 9/11 attack or a "Pearl Harbour"
that transformed public thinking at the time and made any kind of war
possible. Or they may just continue to increase US attacks on other states
until a retaliation occurs, which the neocons may use to justify a nuclear
counterattack. In the neocons pre-Iraq war documents they said the US
needs "another Pearl Harbour" in order to make war on Iraq.
Whoever caused 9/11 it was used by the neocons, including Bush's new Secretary
of State, Condolezza Rice, to justify their pre-planned war on Iraq. From
Vietnam to Iraq, the US public has been conditioned to accept all kinds
of crimes if they are told it is for "National Security". These
include illegal wars, such as Iraq, assassination of foreign leaders and
others who displease the US administration, backing corrupt dictators
and many others. As Adolph Hitler observed: "The bigger the crime
the more people will believe it". The colossal crime of stealing
two US presidential elections, in 2000 and 2005, does not even rate a
mention in the US mass media. Millions of Americans know it happened but
do not overcome their apathy to do anything about it. Bush and his neocons
are now in so deep, any future crimes are possible. Truth and reality is whatever the neocons
like Fisk (below) chose to make it. If you don't believe it, you had better
remain quiet or you will be labelled "against us and with the terrorists" to paraphrase Bush's infamous quote. Further actions against troublesome
individuals, dissenters and groups will likely be implemented later in
Bush's plan. There are many indications of the making of a fascist US
state; such as the US imprisoning, torturing and killing innocent people
in Abu-Ghraib prison, Guantamino Bay and elsewhere, and US withdrawal
from, or simply ignoring international law treaties and agreements. We already know through years of study and
analysis, that humanity has been very, very lucky not to have become the
victim of nuclear war before "by accident, miscalculation or act
of madness". We have been close many times. We are now confronted
by the hardest category of all to predict and control:. "Acts of
madness" this time planned at the highest level of the US Government
and sold to the US public by the US corporate mass media as perfectly
normal and rational. The Bomb used to be universally feared. Great efforts
were made by all nations to construct treaties that would prevent it's
use, and not spark a general nuclear war that would destroy humankind.
No longer. The Bush neocons decided that the bomb was to be sold as useable
in conventional military situations. Miraculously US corporate media made
this happen. They sold the bomb as useable to the US public. Little is
heard now of the dangers of nuclear warfare and how we should work against
such dangers. However the situation is totally different if it is nations
classified by the US as "rogue states" that are said by the
US as maybe able to make nuclear weapons. Then an unholy clamour by the
"free" press erupts about the danger of nuclear warfare brought
on by US-designated "rogue states" that may not even have nuclear
weapons. If they had such weapons they know their nation would be obliterated
if they used them. The US and its allies, Israel and Britain
have huge nuclear arsenals capable to destroying the world many times
over. They threatened to use them during their war on Iraq. Yet they proclaim
as the greatest sin and threat -their Causus Belli - that Iran might get
nuclear weapons in a desperate and vain attempt to defend itself. Using
this as their excuse, whether or not Iran has such weapons, the US and
allies are preparing to attack Iran and kill countless civilians, as they
have successfully killed 100,000 in Iraq using similar false accusations.
This is a supreme example of double think and double standards, which
is embraced with great solemnity by US, Israeli and UK spokesmen, apologists,
the corporate media and much of the US population. At the same time as the US kills in Iraq,
and prepares to kill in Iran, the great US debate on life and death revolves
around keeping a living human vegetable alive at great cost. 100,000 Iraqis
- men, women and children - may be killed and maimed by US bombs, but
that's okay to many Americans, who voted for it to be done again to other
nations. However the same people go ballistic if a 15 year human vegetable
has her food tubes switched off. The US public seem to have accepted this
as readily as Jim Jones 100-odd disciples, with their children, accepted
his invitation to drink poison in order to go to a better world. The US
government has a very large mainly secret, Psychological Warfare department
whose major task is preparing the US public to accept and participate
in all kinds of war crimes. These include such actions as may lead to
creating conflicts and wars with other nations, and even their own extended
suffering and demise in unimaginable conditions. The Iraq war is one example.
However as only Iraqis were getting killed, most Americans were not too
concerned - even when they learned George Bush lied extensively to get
the US into a war against Iraq. However if the US begins to make war on Iran,
China, Russia North Korea and other nuclear or non-nuclear states, the
situation may spiral into much more serious consequences for Americans
as well as those the US attacks and the rest of the world. Christian Fundamentalists,
and Christian Zionists expect, even welcome, a heavenly nuclear armageddon
as one of the promises made in the Bible. They are united, wealthy, dedicated
and committed to tithe themselves to help expand their numbers, and support
any moves by George Bush that may help bring about this heavenly promise.
They all expect to be raptured directly to heaven - so they are not concerned
with trivial things like Peak Oil, Rapid Climate Change, the UN, International
Law, and any other threats. All the accomplishments of modern civilization
that people have worked and died for over hundreds of years are of little
interest to the fundamentalists. These people are one of Bush's major
supporting groups. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the USA's Tragic Withdrawal from the Rule of Law: Pentagon Confirms that Unilateral Pre-emptive Strikes are now US Policy by Evan Augustine Peterson III, J.D., March 25, 2005 The Pentagon has released a new strategic plan, blandly titled "The National Defense Strategy of the United States of America," that explicitly endorses unilateral preemptive strikes. [1] This is yet another indication that the Bush administration is dramatically accelerating away from longstanding doctrines that are upheld by both general international law and seemingly-important transatlantic coalitions like NATO. [2] Alarmingly, this plan also equates respected international organizations, such as the International Criminal Court, with ... terrorism! According to this sentence from the Pentagon's new plan, the Pax Americana Imperium's overwhelming military strength somehow is being "challenged" by "a strategy of the weak": "Our strength as a nation state will continue to be challenged by those who employ a strategy of the weak focusing on international fora, judicial processes and terror." [3] The entire world must be wondering WHY the Pentagon's wildly-illogical language conflates DIPLOMATIC and LEGAL challenges to US policy in international forums with TERRORISM? It's bad enough that the scofflaw Bush administration has resorted to grossly mischaracterizing Western civilization's most time-honored methods of international conflict-resolution as "challenges" which MUST BE DETERRED AS A MATTER OF NATIONAL SECURITY. Nevertheless, it gets even worse. Fully article |
