U.S. Nuclear Weapons On Iran?

Comment by Larry Ross, October 31, 2006

Although the following article is 6 months old, it's so thorough, well-researched and authoritative, it should be widely read.
This and many other articles show that key Bush Administration people want war with Iran, and reject any objections to using nuclear weapons against Iran.

An attack on Iran  lacks any justification and would be very much against U.S. present and future interests. The Administration is inventing a series of lies to justify such an action, similar to the lies invented to justify their war on Iraq . The Democrats bought the Iraq war, in spite of the glaring lies. They repeat these lies and campaign as if the lies are true.

Iraq may be a quagmire, but the ruse succeeded. Their success with the Iraq deception is likely to embolden the Bush neocons to launch a much larger crime - war with Iran . This is likely to become a very large, uncontrollable world disaster.

Today, Whitehouse decisions are made by extremists with fanatical belief systems that allow them to discount national U.S. interests.

Many are extremists, criminal psychopaths, and religious maniacs who deliberately kill thousands of other human beings and risk far wider wars, even nuclear war, for no real reason - other than some kind of fanatical beliefs that defy reason.

Even with expert psywar and propaganda systems working overtime in the U.S. , and a compliant mass media, to convince the public of the rightness of this madness that Iran is the enemy, the American public is becoming fed up with the war making and corruption of the Bush Administration.  If the November elections are held in this climate, and there is no fraud using the Republican-controlled electronic voting machines, Bush would lose control of Congress to the Democrats.

But the Bush neocons may have made allowance for that in their war planning. It could be a great benefit to the Bush Administration to implicate The Democratic Party and make them share the responsibility for U.S. war crimes.

A False Flag operation before the election, in which there is a (U.S.-planned) terrorist incident against U.S. property and people, blamed on Iran , is one way to increase Bush popularity, popular support for a war with Iran and swing the Nov elections to the Republicans. Also, such an act would allow new Patriot- Act legislation to suppress dissent and doubters. Bush would claim he needs more power to fight this new manifestation of 'hatred and terror' against peaceful U.S. citizens. An alleged Iranian terrorist attack on the U.S. would also provoke public hatred of Iran , providing the motivation to jump the nuclear barrier and use nuclear weapons against Iran. The world would be more likely to accept the U.S. use of nuclear weapons if they believed Iran had first attacked the U.S.

The media's vitally important role would be to convince the public that the 'False Flag' attack, blamed on Iran , was indeed a real Iranian attack. They then  would act as war cheerleaders, justifying U.S. reprisals against Iran . They would ridicule any exposure of the 'False Flag' operation and dismiss it as a nutty 'conspiracy theory'. As they are doing for the Iraq war, they would suppress facts, investigative reporting, questioning commentators, and most material that reveals horrific truths about U.S. war crimes.

If a 'False Flag' operation against Iran is postponed until after the Democrats have won, the Bush Administration will be able to gain Democratic House support for their new war on Iran and gain increased believability. As with most False Flag operations, such as Hitler burning down the Reichstag in 1933 and blaming terrorists, and the U.S. blaming North Vietnam for a faked attack on U.S. Destroyers in the Gulf of Tonkin in 1965, a huge majority of people and politicians will believe their leaders lies and 'False Flag' deceptions.  Normal , but uninformed people, cannot believe their own leaders would commit such blatant crimes against their own citizens. It's natural for them to believe the leader's lies and support their actions. Only two U.S. Senators dissented from the vote to approve Johnson's plan to escalate the Vietnam War by bombing North Vietnam in retaliation for their alleged attack on U.S. destroyers.

Unfortunately 'False Flag' operations have worked well for unscrupulous governments since about 1600. The most important consideration is that the people believe the crime was committed by those their Administration name, and that people dismiss as 'absurd conspiracy theorists' any who think differently.

People have been preconditioned that ' Iran is the enemy and a nuclear threat'. The majority of Americans according to the polls support U.S. military action against it. So the pre-conditioning  pre-disposes them to believe that the Iranians would commit a dastardly crime. Also, people have been conditioned to believe that any doubts they may have, or express, about official explanations of important events, such as 9/11 Questions, places them in the 'conspiracy theorists' category. They have been constantly conditioned by the media and selected media commentators, that only nutty 'Conspiracy theorists' doubt the official government word on important events. Doubters are portrayed as very far-out persons with fanciful silly views, which are ridiculous, impossible and unlikely. They are not to be trusted - someone to avoid etc. Evidence and rational, dispassionate analysis does not seem to matter much to such people. They tend to dismiss any facts, or analysis that doubts official stories.

This is particularly true in regard to the Bush Administration as the implications and dangers to humanity of the actual crimes, the suspected crimes, and crimes to follow, are enormous and world threatening.

People just don't want to go there. Strange as it seems, people prefer to deny horrible realities, even march off to war rather than spend a little time researching and considering the potential real horrors that are the beginning of far worse horrors to come. An example is the Germans who followed and supported Hitler into World War II after he burned down the Reichstag. They loved him.  What would they have done if they knew their mad dictatorship would cost 50 million lives, untold suffering, and was based on a successful Nazi 'False Flag' operation?

The time to reflect and consider what actions a person can do is now. Act before it becomes too late to act in a constructive way to prevent a huge war - an endless expanding war that no one can stop.

Mind Games Over Iran

by Jim Lobe, April 11, 2006

Three years after the fall of Baghdad to U.S. forces, Washington is abuzz about new reports that the administration of President George W. Bush is preparing to attack Iran, possibly with nuclear weapons.

In just the past few days, lengthy articles detailing planning for aerial attacks on as many as 400 nuclear and military targets have appeared in The Washington Post , the London Sunday Times , The Forward (the main weekly of the U.S. Jewish community) and The New Yorker .

The New Yorker account, written by legendary investigative reporter Seymour Hersh, who two years ago was the first to disclose U.S. abuses of detainees at Abu Ghraib prison, was the most spectacular, although it relied heavily on unnamed sources outside the administration.

Among other assertions, Hersh's 6,300-word article, ” The Iran Plans”, alleged that U.S. combat forces have already entered Iran to collect target data and make contact with ”anti-government ethnic-minority groups”?assertions that the Post said it was  unable to confirm. It also claimed that efforts by senior military officials to get the administration to eliminate contingency plans for the use of nuclear weapons against specific hardened targets had been ”shouted down” by the Pentagon's civilian leadership.

Unlike other accounts that have argued that any U.S. attack was unlikely to take place until after the November mid-term elections at the earliest, Hersh also suggested that a U.S. attack could come at any time.
